T-Ball Division (4, 5, & 6 year old) - - New in 2018!!!
Instructional League (6, 7 & 8 year old)
Instructional League is for boys with less experience. This league is a developmental division for boys interested in baseball that have completed at least one year of T-Ball (see Peru T-Ball for more information on T-Ball program). Coaches focus on throwing, fielding, and hitting fundamentals. A "no-walk" system is used during games. In this system, coaches will enter the game after a called ball 4, and will pitch 5 pitches to the batter. A 40-ft baseball diamond is used for this league. The season comprises of internal league games, but the Peru teams will also play other towns in interleague play. The season ends with an unsanctioned Peru tournament. The main goal of this league is to create a fun learning environment for boys to develop into ballplayers and teammates.
Minor Division (9 & 10 Year Old)
This league is for boys with some experience playing baseball. The fundamentals developed during Instructional League are reinforced with a greater emphasis on pitching and catching. A 60-ft diamond is used in this league. The season comprises of internal league games, but the Peru teams will also play other towns in interleague play. A post season double elimination tournament will be held for the Peru teams. Although this division operates with increased competitiveness, there is still a focus on personal development and encouragement.
Major Division (11 & 12 Year Old)
This league is for boys with experience playing baseball. The skills developed in earlier leagues are further reinforced with some advanced techniques being introduced. The diamond used is a 60-foot diamond and the pitching distance is 46 feet. In this league, new rules are added such as stealing (no lead offs) and the "dropped 3rd Strike" rule. The season ends with a double elimination Peru tournament offered to all teams. The league aims to develop the players competitiveness, while still focusing on personal development and encouragement.
Junior Division (13 & 14 Year Old)
This league is a program for boys ages 13-14 years old. This division introduces new rules to the players such as pick offs and steals (with lead offs). A conventional 90-foot diamond is used with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. While there is no end of season tournament, players may be selected for an All-Star tournament and compete as representatives of Peru.
Senior Division (15 & 16 Year Old)
This league is a program for boys ages 15-16 years old. This league includes the full spectrum of rules and is played on a conventional 90 foot diamond with a pitching distance of 60 feet, 6 inches. While there is no end of season tournament, players may be selected for an All-Star tournament and compete as representatives of Peru.
